FLASHES OF HOPE is a non-profit organization dedicated to creating
powerful, uplifting portraits of children fighting cancer.

The portraits help children feel better about their changing appearance by celebrating it.
For a few moments, it doesn't seem like a hospital.
Children who haven't wanted to get out of bed are suddenly smiling & laughing.

For families of these children, it's especially important to have a portrait
that preserves forever the beauty, grace & dignity of their child.

Locally, each month since 2009, Wellesley based portrait photographer Roger Pelissier
has volunteered his time & donated his talents to Boston Children's Hospital
and used his camera to see beyond the devastating disease, 
giving the children & their families a chance to take a break 
from the routine of the hospital & medicine.
To see a child smiling & laughing,
when there isn't much to smile or laugh about, is an amazing experience.

Kids with cancer are still just kids...
and parents of these kids know that you don't get a second chance
to capture a once-in-a-lifetime moment.
There is hope & strength in each extraordinary smile.
The photos are an everyday reminder of what matters most.

FLASHES OF HOPE partners with over 70 world-class hospitals throughout the US
and has photographed over 30,300 children.
FLASHES OF HOPE is committed to the advancement of pediatric cancer research.
